Ask anybody about the top artists of all times, and you will get pretty predictable answers. There's Leonardo Da Vinci of course, the universal creative genius of Florence. Following him, you'll typically get a bunch of painters - Dalí, Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh and the rest of the best and brightest in that field.

Great artists no doubt, and several of them multitalented. While Michaelangelo was both a highly skilled painter and renowned for his sculptural work, Leonardo was also an architect, a gifted engineer, an inventor and a natural scientist. For the 15th century italian genius, these were all different expressions of art.

Even the ancient greek philosophers knew to combine science and art, and made little distinction between the two. From that followed that Archimedes was both a philosopher and possibly the world's greatest mathematician, while Aristotle wrote important works on such diverse subjects as physics, poetry, music, biology, logic and rhetoric.

So what does all of this has to do with imendio? As it turns out, quite a bit actually.

Ours is a company built on passion, the very same passion that unites all the previously mentioned artists. As they were engaged in their respective fields, we are committed to the creation of high quality code that acts as proverbial engines in a long series of amazing real world devices.

Writing line after line of code is not only about getting the desired results, it's about making the process enjoyable, the body of work maintainable and the finished product beautiful. Ever see sheet music on a concerto by Mozart? It's nothing short of amazing. The precision of each carefully crafted note, every nuance and every subtle pitch shift breathtaking.

That is how we feel about our work. We really do believe that code is art, and that many of the gifted, creative programmers and developers around the world are modern day artists. Over the years, Imendio has invited several of them to join our growing team, to further develop this philosophy, themselves and the open source community. We come together sharing a basic set of values to create ever better solutions.

Now, if code is art, and we're artists, then our clients have become connoisseurs - refined appreciators of art. Today, as in our humble beginnings, it remains Imendio's mission to meet and surpass their high expectations - day by day, assignment after assignment, one challenge after another.
